PEORIA, Ill. -- An event sure to satisfy the taste buds took place at the Peoria Civic Center.

More than 300 Girl Scouts of all ages gathered in the Civic Center on Friday to set goals and build excitement for the upcoming cookie sales season.

Funds raised benefit area girl scout programs and the community.

"We want the girls to go out and have a fun time selling the cookies and so this is the way to go WHO-HOO Cookies and have them taste them, learn about them and also be able to have some fun merchandise to wear as they go out and sell them too," said Program Specialist Jodi McDuffee.

The Cookie Rally was open to the public, inviting guests to learn about the business of selling cookies as well.

Girl Scout Cookie sales begin February first. To find a sales scout near you, call 309-688-8671.
