PEORIA, Ill. -- A local nurse said she doesn't expect to see a lot of unintended pregnancies after a massive birth control mix-up.

Pfizer, the world's biggest drug maker, has recalled one million packs of its generic and name brand Lo-Ovral 28 birth control.

The company mixed up the number of active and inactive pills, which could cause women to ovulate more, resulting in an unintended pregnancy.

But nurse Mariola Kabat said if women are staying on top of their pills, the mix-up shouldn't cause a major issue.

"Where it may become more of a problem is for those women who have one of those packets that have the problem, but in addition to that, have missed pills on their own," she said. "Those are the women I'd be even more concerned about."

If you're concerned, nurse Mariola Kabat said call your doctor for a pregnancy test and begin using another form of contraception immediately. Specific lot numbers for the recall can be found on www.fda.gov.
