PEORIA, Ill. -- A local organization has been preparing women for job interviews for more than 13 years.

And Monday, they celebrated 'suiting up' their 2000th client, with the help of a special guest.

Dress for Success Peoria, serves more than 300 women annually.

They help women prepare for employment by offering a wide range of services, including retention programs and career development classes.

Illinois State Representative, Jehan Gordon-Booth offered her fashion advice to the 2000th client.

She said she is grateful that women in our community have access to such great resources and support during our tough economy.

"A woman, who is in need of that attire, could put that jacket on, put those slacks on, button up that blouse and feel excited. And feel confident about her personal appearance. I do not think you can put a value on how important that is," said Gordon-Booth.

The Dress for Success organization serves more than 120 cities worldwide, and has helped more than 650,000 women since 1997.
