PEORIA Ill -- The 31st annual Taste of Peoria sizzled up some of your favorite foods.

33 different vendors were at the Peoria river side to give everyone a taste of what they had cooking.

Each food item was priced between $1 and $3, making it hard to turn down.

Vendors were judged on who had the best entrée, appetizer, dessert and specialty drink.

Despite the early rain, the event turned out to be a real treat for many.

Even newcomers tried to cram it all in one night.

"This is my first time I've ever been here, so I'm gonna try about everything I can really. I just tried some briscuit. I'm looking for some wings to be honest," said Taste of Peoria newcomer, Jeff Vogel.

Officials said the event was expected to bring in over 15,000 residents in its annual event.
