PEORIA, Ill. -- April is Child Abuse Prevention month and local stores are getting creative to do their part to support the Crittenton Center Crisis Nursery.

Schnucks is making donating to our Fill the Crib project easy by pre-packaging diapers, baby food, and other necessary nursery supplies.

The Crisis Nursery provides free child care services to families in need, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Schnucks customers can purchase a donation bag at the register.

"A lot of times people want to give, but they don't know what to give or how to give, so we are trying to make it easy. We put all these items into bags, into five, 10-dollar, 15-dollar bags, and customers can just come in and pick up a bag to help the center," Schnucks manager Jay Ricketts said.

Jay Ricketts says last year customers contributed about $2500 worth of products.
