Local woman pleads not guilty to criminal neglect of elderly person

PEKIN, Ill -- A Washington woman pleaded not guilty to contributing to her mother's death last year.

Thursday afternoon, 42-year-old Jennifer Levin appeared in front of a Tazewell County circuit judge for a preliminary hearing.

She is charged with three counts of criminal neglect of an elderly person.

Her 66-year-old mother, Carole Levin was found dead in her bed last July weighing only 52 pounds and matted to the bed in feces.

A pre-trial for Jennifer Levin is set for April 25th.

A jury trial will be held May 5th.
