DULUTH, MN. -- Imagine sleeping outside in weather like Peoria's.

Now imagine sleeping in outside in weather that's even worse.

17 year old Rudy Hummel of Duluth, Minnesota is doing just that.

In fact, he's been doing it since last June and doesn't plan to quitting anytime soon.

Wearing three pair of socks, and multiple layers of pajama, rudy sleeps in the backyard of his parent's home.

He's created a 'snow cave" in the yard, and every night he burrows into into it.

It may be 23 below outside but it's a cozy seven degrees inside, warmed by body heat and a candle.

Why's he doing this?

Because he wanted to see if he could spend a year sleeping outside, and so far, he has.

Disclaimer: Snow and ice caves can collapse as temperatures begin to rise.
