YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- After a car was crashed and the driver fled, police ordered the wrecked vehicle towed away.
That's when the crew from the wrecker discovered there was still an occupant in the car, a 300 pound pot-bellied pig.
Crews with no ideas of what to do with the pig until the car owner could be reached, called the Humane Society, then towed the vehicle with the pig inside.
Police aren't sure whether car thieves crashed the Nissan because they were surprised by the pig as a passenger.
The owner of the car and the pig eventually arrived explaining the pet pig, named Penelope, was being kept in the vehicle after their home caught fire and they stayed with friends.
It took the owner, the Humane Society guy, and the wrecker crew to get Penelope out of the wrecked car and into another car to take her home.
