You won't be seeing this event during the Olympics, but you could be seeing it at a pool near you this weekend.

Summertime has gone to the dogs in Reno, Nevada and they're making a splash.

The dogs are competing to see who can jump the farthest from a 40-foot dock into a 40-foot pool. Dogs travel from around the country to participate.

Dog owners say it is the perfect event in the summer heat to keep the dogs cool and give them exercise.

Suzy Nicholson, who had a dog in the competition said, "It's so fun. It's just totally addicting. It's usually warm weather, so you get wet, the dogs get wet, they get to swim and have a great time."

The event was free, and from what we could tell, the winning dog that jumped more than 23 feet didn't take home much more than some dog treats.
