A lot of companies say they're selling small cars, but this is truly a small car.. and it has just been approved for the road in Japan.

This little fore-and-aft two-seater has a maximum speed of about 37-mph and can run for 62-miles on a single charge. Japanese officials have been testing the car for nearly two years.

They've allowed tourists to drive it and asked doctors to use it on their house calls. Inspectors gave it a final check Friday.

For now, only local authorities can apply to drive the car, but government officials hope to start using the vehicles for tourism...meaning folks who are new to the area will be driving small new-to-them cars.

Happy motoring.
