WEST ALLIS, WI -- Let’s be honest one of the main reasons to go to the fair is fair food.

The Wisconsin State Fair reportedly has 70 new foods this year, but only one can win the coveted “Golden Spork” Award.

A blue ribbon panel tested the eight finalists for the “Sporkie” on Tuesday.

The award goes to deep-fried peanut butter and bacon nuggets with Berry Weiss jelly.

"We have to thank mom for this one growing up, that was a staple on Sunday mornings were peanut butter and bacon sandwiches," said Michael Paris, Sporkie winner.

If you’re not into deep-fried peanut butter and bacon, the cheese judging winners will be announced Friday.
