LONDON -- It was an intimate concert for four in London on Thursday.
An elderly resident and his three teenaged companions were serenaded with songs of love.
Yes, four endangered Galapagos Tortoises: 70-year-old Dirk and his three female companions Dolores, 13, and Dolly and Polly, both 17, were treated to a concert by world-renowned pianist Richard Clayderman.
Clayderman, whose track "Ballade Pour Adeline" is one of the biggest selling piano recordings of all time, played the famous tune on a grand piano transported to the giant tortoise enclosure.
He also played themes from West Side Story and Romeo & Juliet.
The hope is the romantic music may make them more amorous and to raise awareness for the rare reptiles.
