SPRINGFIELD, IL -- Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan has filed a motion to extend a federal mandate for concealed carry.

Last Friday, both chambers passed a concealed carry bill - which is now sitting on the governor's desk.

By federal court order, Illinois has until June 9th to enact a concealed carry law.

Madigan's motion requests a 30 day extension to allow Quinn more time to review the new legislation.

If the request is denied and Quinn fails to sign the bill before Sunday's deadline concealed carry will take effect with no restrictions of any kind.
