Main Street grocery store robbed by two armed suspects

PEORIA, Ill -- A Main Street grocery store was robbed by two armed men on Thursday night, police say.

Officers responded to 7-11-21- Grocery and Deli, 841 Main Street, at 6:00 pm.

The employee at the store said that he was the only person in the business when two men armed with handguns came into the business.

One of the suspects ordered the employee to the floor and put a gun to his head. The other suspect took cash out of the register and lottery drawers, five cartons of cigarettes, unknown numbers of cigarette boxes, and a bubble gum container containing an unknown amount of coins.

The employee was unharmed in the incident.

Police have arrested Sabin Williams, 18, and Lawrence Coleman, 19, in connection to the robbery.

Police say that this investigation is ongoing.
