Man acquitted of child abuction charges

PEORIA CO. -- A Peoria County Jury has acquitted a man accused of abducting two children and taking them to Minneapolis, Minnesota.

In May, 25-year-old King Peterson and the mother of the children, 20-year-old Nyway Abbaa had been charged with taking the children from state care.

Abbaa remains charged with child abduction, and has a court hearing set for August 31.
