COOK COUNTY, Ill. -- A Wisconsin man is charged in a Chicago-area crash that killed Illinois State Police Trooper James Sauter.

Officer Sauter was killed in the line of duty on March 28th when his parked squad car was hit by a semi truck on I-294.

The driver, 25-year old Andrew Bokelman is charged with violating a number of commercial trucking regulations.

Investigators say Bokelman admitted to falling asleep at the wheel, and had no drugs or alcohol in his system at the time of the accident.

If convicted, he faces anywhere from one to three years in prison.
