DEER PARK TOWNSHIP, Ill. -- An unidentified man was airlifted to Peoria after a fall at Starved Rock State Park Sunday.
The man was hiking off a marked trail when he reportedly fell into a canyon.
According to the Ottawa Times, the man fell 40 feet into a pool of water at the bottom of the canyon and had to be carried out by responders.
The victim was flown to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center for emergency treatment.
The Chicago Tribune reports that a second person also fell at the park Sunday, but there is no details on their condition.
NBC News Chicago is reporting that authorities say alcohol might have been involved.
