PEORIA, Ill. -- A man was shot and killed in Peoria Friday night, making him the city's ninth homicide victim this year.
At 11:15 p.m., police responded to a 9-1-1 call and found 44-year-old Mark A. Sublett shot in the head and unresponsive, lying in the yard at 1531 West Widenham Street on Peoria's East Bluff.
Sublett was pronounced dead a short time later.
Witnesses told police the gunman was alone and fired several shots before leaving the scene on foot.
No arrests have been made.
