EL PASO, Ill. -- On Good Friday, a Rockford man set out on a 380 mile walk across Illinois, bearing a cross.

His destination is Alto Pass, Illinois the home of the 111 foot tall Bald Knob Cross for Peace.

Jeremy Leisky said the journey is an expression of his religious beliefs, and a symbol of unity and hope.

"You got a lot of people out there that feel they are alone in this world, but you're not. We're here for each other. And God is here for us," said Cross Bearer Jeremy Leisky.

Leisky walks 20 miles a day, and will arrive in Bloomington on Saturday.

He welcomes anyone, who wishes too, to carry the cross.
