PEORIA, Ill. -- Police say that two people were attacked by a mob of people near the 2100 block of Knoxville Avenue Monday night.

According to a Peoria Police report, the two victims were walking southbound on Knoxville from Arcadia at 11:10 p.m. when they saw a group of 10 to 15 black males and females. The victims say they saw the group lying in the roadway to impede traffic.

The group then approached the victims, who said there was an argument and then they were attacked.

One of the victims was a 22-year-old pregnant woman, who said she was dragged along the ground by three black males and had her phone stolen.

The victim said the attack stopped after one of the suspects said she was pregnant and the group fled northbound on foot.

The pregnant female had her leg broken during the fight. The male victim was struck by an unknown suspect, but was otherwise uninjured.
