Manager at store pepper sprayed by shoplifters

PEORIA, Ill -- Police say a manager at Gander Mountain, 5114 W. Holiday Drive, was pepper sprayed by shoplifers on Friday night.

The 50 year-old victim told police that he observed two females putting jackets into a shopping bag.

The victim asked the females to come up to the front of the building with him. The two females ran away from him and a third female allegedly pepper spayed the victim in the face.

Security footage did not show the pepper spraying incident.

Customers and other employees said that the suspects got fled in a white, newer model Buick.

The suspects took nine jackets with an approximate value of $1560.
