WASHBURN, Ill. – The Marshall County coroner has released the identities of two men who drowned in a residential pond in Washburn.

The men are Mario Jackson, 33, and Anthony Grays, 23, both of Memphis, Tennessee.

Witnesses said the two men were doing contract work on Monday at 3 Snag Creek Road in the south eastern portion of Marshall County, when they decided to go for a swim in a nearby pond.

Grays was last seen around 4:15 p.m. swimming out to a platform in the center of the pond, while Jackson sat on a dock. Moments later the men were gone.

Their bodies were recovered by a dive team around 8 p.m. Monday.
