PEORIA, Ill. -- Friday afternoon, the newly refurbished Knoxville location served as the back drop as McDonald's franchise owners Terry and Nadyne Clark presented a $26,000 dollar check to their neighbors at the Children's Home.
Donations were collected at all 11 Peoria and Bartonville locations since the beginning of July.
The organization hoped to raise $20,000 dollars, but easily surpassed that goal.
"A check for $26,000 plus, what an amazing gift. You know, the support of the community lead by the Clark Management group, Terry and Naydene, I mean words can hardly express what a gift that..what that does, what it means", said Clete Winkelmann, President and CEO of Childrens Home.
The donation will be used for sensory rooms at the Children's Home's Keifer School and Youth Farms Campus.
The new sensory rooms are specifically targeted to help children with autism.
