LEE CO., Ill. -- Three people are dead after a medical helicopter crash in Lee County.
According to our sister station, WREX, Rockford Health System's REACT helicopter was heading towards a hospital to the LaSalle County community of Mendota when it went down outside Rochelle about 8:30 p.m.
A Rockford Health System representative says a pilot and two flight nurses were on board.
The cause of the crash is unknown, but officials say near freezing temperatures may have played a role in possible icing on the craft.
