PEORIA, Ill --Central Illinois' service men and women are taking a new, festive approach to serving our country.

Friday 24 local members of the United States Army delivered some holiday cheer ... and gifts to the kids at Children's Hospital of Illinois.

The visit is an annual tradition.

"And now the fact the holiday season is here, we thought the best way for us to spend the holiday season was to be with the kids and the children that are not able to be at home and have Christmas in their own home," says First Sergeant Jose Torres.

The service men and women are part of the Central Illinois Recruiting Company.
