Mitsubishi: Outlander has second best month ever, overall sales up

CYPRESS, Calif. -- Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) reported Thursday December was its second-best-ever month of sales for Outlander Sport, up 15.4 percent compared to December 2011.

Outlander Sport sales were 1,770 for the month, exceeded only by the 2,253 sales in September of this year. Sales during the 2012 calendar year for the fuel-efficient CUV, manufactured in Normal, were up almost 20 percent compared to the prior year.

Overall Mitsubishi sales were 4,113 units, an increase of more than 15 percent from November, but down 18 percent compared to December 2011.
