Mitsubishi reports increased year-over-year sales for core models

CYPRESS, Calif. -- Mitsubishi Motors North America announced Friday year-over-year sales increases for all of its core models in January.

The Outlander Sport, produced in Normal, sold 1,350 models for the month, an increase of almost 21 percent over January 2012.

Mitsubishi says that overall sales were down one percent from January 2012 due to discontinued models. Total sales of models currently in production increased by more than 59 percent.
