WASHINGTON, D.C. -- There is positive news in the latest unemployment numbers released Friday morning.
The Labor Department says U.S. Employers added 155,000 jobs last month holding the national unemployment rate at 7.8 percent.
The construction sector created the most jobs due to housing improvements and rebuilding after Hurricane Sandy.
Meanwhile, manufacturing added 25,000 jobs, the most in nine months.
Even with the gains, hiring is far from accelerating. Employers added an average of 153,000 jobs a month last year, matching the monthly average in 2011.
