PEORIA, Ill -- Police arrested three suspected members of the Bomb Squad gang around the same time other units responded to a shots fired call near the street of a Monday morning homicide.

Police responded to the 3000 block of West Seibold at approximately 1:45 a.m Monday.

There they found 24-year-old Tyrann M. Chester of Chicago in the backseat of a rented, silver SUV.

Chester was pronounced dead on the scene from a gunshot wound to his head

Around the same time, another shots fired call was issued and Peoria City Police requested help from County police.

19-year-old Mytrez Flora, 22-year-old Lloyd Dotson, and 19-year-old Eugene Heywood were arrested by Peoria County Police on the 2500 block of West Humboldt.

According to Peoria police, Mytrez had a .22 caliber pistol in his waistband, and two other handguns were recovered.

Flora was previously arrested in 2011 for a shooting that occurred near City Hall.

He was paroled in May of this year.

The homicide of Tyrann M. Chester is under investigation, and the three men believed to be Bomb Squad affiliates are being held for weapons charges at this time.
