EAST PEORIA, Ill. -- An East Peoria family is homeless after a Monday morning fire.

Authorities responded to 234 Campanile Drive at around 2 a.m.

The attached garage was fully engulfed and the flames soon spread to the house.

Crews were forced to use aerial resources to fight the fire, which authorities said was spread by the wind.

Initial and secondary searches found no one inside after fears of a resident being in the basement.

No other injuries were reported.
