Morning storms could be cause of vacant house fire

EAST PEORIA, Ill. -- Thursday morning's storms are suspected to be the cause of a vacant house fire.

East Peoria and Creve Coeur firefighters were called to Pekin Street in East Peoria near Oakdale Avenue shortly after 10 a.m. on report of a house fire.

The fire was isolated to the front room of the residence.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze within five minutes of their arrival.

No one was injured in the incident.

The official cause of the fire remains under investigation.
