ST. GERMAIN, WI. -- A Morton woman is dead following a snowmobile crash in Wisconsin.

The Vilas County Sheriff's Department says the incident happened December 31 around 7:20 p.m. in the town of St. Germain, Wisconsin.

They say Kathlene Seltveit, 40, was the only person on a snowmobile when she failed to negotiate a turn. The snowmobile then traveled down an embankment rolling over Seltveit several times.

She sustained internal injuries and was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor. The crash is still under investigation.
