MOSSVILLE, Ill. -- A Mossville teacher has resigned amidst charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
According to the Chillicothe Times Bulletin, the Illinois Valley Central School District 321 board accepted Kayla Trueblood's resignation, effective immediately, at its Dec. 18 meeting.
The 22-year-old was a first year part-time teacher at Mossville Junior High and Elementary School, where she taught gifted education.
Trueblood was arrested December 3 for allegedly having sexual contact with a 16-year-old boy on school grounds after hours.
If convicted, she could face up to seven years in prison or up to four years of probation.
