TAZEWELL COUNTY, Ill. -- Authorities have released the identity of a 67-year-old motorcyclist who remains in critical condition after striking a pick-up truck Wednesday night.

Tazewell County Sheriff's Deputies said Larry Lauterbach was rounding a tight curve on Farmdale Road near Ridge Road just after 6:30 Wednesday when the accident happened.

They believe Lauterbach crossed a center line and clipped the side of the truck.

Deputies said he was transported to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center with a shattered pelvis and what they said are serious head injuries.

He remains in critical condition.

The truck driver was uninjured.

Authorities continue to investigate the accident.
