MT. ZION, Ill. – Authorities have arrested a Mount Zion man in connection with the 2012 death of his wife.

Chad M. Cutler, 39, of Decatur was arrested Thursday on a charge of First Degree Murder in the death of Lisa Cutler, 47, of Decatur.

On April 27, 2012 officers responded to a 911 call for a “person down” at a residence in the 2000 block of South Lake Parkway in Decatur.

There they found Cutler lying on the floor in the master bathroom. She was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead.

Authorities initially said Cutler, a teacher at Eisenhower High School in Decatur, had drowned but after a 15 month investigation, authorities issued an arrest warrant for her husband.

Cutler is being held in the Macon County Jail on $5,000,000 bond.
