STERLING, Ill. --The next trial for convicted murderer Nicholas Sheley will be held October 15th.

A judge set a new trial date after a status hearing Friday at the Whiteside Country Courthouse.

Sheley was scheduled to stand trial in June on murder charges related to the 2008 deaths of four people in Rock Falls.

In November, Sheley was convicted of murder in the death of Russell Reed of Sterling and sentenced to life in prison.

Previously he was convicted of murder in the death of Ronald Randal of Galesburg, and got a life sentence for that crime.
