PEORIA, Ill. -- A trial has been set for the man accused of killing his wife on Valentine's Day.
On Thursday, a Peoria County Coroner inquest ruled the death of Denise Leuthold a homicide.
Her husband, Nathan Leuthold, allegedly shot his wife Denise in the head and staged an apparent break-in to cover the crime at their north Peoria home.
Leuthold has yet to be arraigned on the charges.
Thursday morning, the judge in case appointed Leuthold a public defender and continued the proceedings to next week.
A trial date has been set, however, for May 28th.
