A new wave of leaders was celebrated in Peoria Tuesday night.

Heartland Partnership hosted it's 10th annual VIP reception for local leaders to network and discuss issues.

Along with the meet and greet, 11 honorees who are new to the River City were introduced; Like David Glassman, Bradley University's new provost and vice president for academic affairs.

Glassman says he's only been in town 40 days and that, "it's great to make contacts & network with the leaders of the Peoria community and just to see the vibrancy that's going on in Peoria right now just by talking to individuals here. It's really a wonderful moment."

Other new leaders there Tuesday night included District 150's new superintendent Dr. Grenita Lathan, the new music director for the Peoria symphony orchestra George Stelluto, and Peoria Quest Charter Academy's Principal Engin Blackstone.
