PEORIA, Ill. -- A new, but familiar, entertainment venue is set to open in Peoria just in time for New Years.

While its name is famous around the world, this new venue is expected to bring in a variety of customers.

Big Al's has become world famous over the past several years on Main Street in Peoria.

Now, it is bringing the fame to a brand new spot, with a bigger venue and more entertainment options.

"When I purchased this, I just said 'I have do it. I have to build it big. I have to bring entertainment to Peoria. I want to use the entertainment to draw in different clientele. I don't necessarily have to have nudity'," said Big Al's Owner, Al Zuccarini.

The new venue is no longer just for adult entertainment.

Big Al's will include a buffet, entertainment shows, and live music along with adult entertainment later at night.

With the new location, it could increase walking distance for club goers, but Zuccarini is positive business will still be booming at his new spot.

"You have Sully's down the street. You have Jim's a block and a half away on the main drag. You have all these little places and one block down is the new museum and welcome center. So, I think I actually made a good move," said Zuccarini.

Big Al's just received its new liquor license for the new address and they're hoping for a new year of bigger business.

While the outside of the club is not too flashy, Zuccarini hopes the new decor, giant screens, and the bigger stage inside will speak for itself.

"We don't even say adult club on our sign. I don't want to offend anyone. Everyone knows it is here, everyone knows what it is. I want to fit in downtown. I want to fit in across from the Civic Center," said Zuccarini.

Zuccarini added that they are waiting a couple months to begin opening during the day.

The new location on Jefferson Avenue is set for a soft open Thursday night at 6 p.m. followed by a big celebration on New Years Eve.
