CENTRAL ILLINOIS -- Medical marijuana is one of more than 200 new state laws to take effect new year's day.

Some of them change how you drive.

Starting January 1st no talking on cell phones while behind the wheel.

Folks need a hands-free device or face a first-time 75 dollar fine.

Flicking your cigarette butt out of the car window will also be illegal.

Getting caught could cost you up to 15-hundred dollars.

And you can speed up in 2014, but don't get your hopes up too fast.

Though the law takes effect tomorrow, drivers will have to wait until signs are posted to go 70 miles per hour.
