New manager appointed for Children's Discovery Museum

NORMAL, Ill. -- A new manager has been appointed for the Children's Discovery Museum.

Tuesday, Normal City Manager Mark Peterson announced Sheila Riley of Indianapolis, Indiana will be filling the position held by Carol Struck. Struck has served as the Interim Museum Manager since March 12, 2012.

Peterson said Riley was selected from a strong candidate pool. Museum staff, community members, and donors participated in the screening process.

In addition to making the announcement, Peterson added his thanks for Struck's service as manager. "By all accounts, Carol has done a marvelous job," he said. "Given her numerous experiences serving in interim leadership situations...She is an extraordinary talent and we owe her a huge debt of gratitude for serving in this very important interim postion."

Struck's last full day will be June 21. Riley will officially assume her new postion on July 2.
