PEORIA, Ill. -- The first ingredient in a plan to revitalize the warehouse district is in place.

Sugar is the first new business to set up its storefront in the warehouse district. The restaurant opened earlier this month and specializes in wood-fired pizza.

Owner Travis Mohlenbrink, who also runs restaurants "Salt" and "Cracked Pepper", said he has received an outpouring of support towards the new venture.

"I've always loved the buildings in this area and was really excited to see the city and the government is really starting to get behind what's happening here and putting some money into the infrastructure," Mohlenbrink said.

"It's exciting because you see places like this somebody is willing to invest a lot of money into and really take that chance and then encourage others to do so too," said customer Mark Henninger.

Mohlenbrink said business is so good, some people cannot find a seat during the lunch hour.
