Next phase for Peoria's "Don't Shoot"

PEORIA, Ill -- Two months after the indictments of 12 Bomb Squad gang members, Peoria is moving into the next phase of the city's "Don't Shoot" initiative.

 

Monday, Assistant U.S. Attorney Rob Lang joined city officials to discuss the call-in element of "Don't Shoot."

 

This phase focuses on the individuals who are affiliated with gang organizations and informs them of the possible consequences of their actions.

 

"Oh yeah, we are letting you know,” said Rob Lang, Assistant U.S. Attorney. “But we also want you to go back and tell your group. Because the next one of your group that commits one of these prohibited acts: robbery, fell into possession, big dope with firearms, retaliation, drive-by, all those kind of things, we're going to hold your entire group responsible."

 

The call-ins will take place December 10.
