EAST PEORIA, Ill -- For four houses teetering on the edge of a mudslide in East Peoria, the city building inspector says "there is no light at the end of the tunnel."
Steve Minner says the ground under and around the homes on Kaitlyn Court remains unstable.
He says it's not necessarily getting worse, but stresses that a slide can happen anytime without notice.
Minner says one house, at 112 Kaitlyn, did have some ground movement today from the rain.
The residents are still not being allowed into their homes.
Minner says insurance does not cover any of this. He estimates each of the homes to valued $225,000.
