CHILLIEST, Ill. -- It looks like more trouble lies ahead for the reinstatement of Rescue 33's license.
At a Chillicothe City Council meeting on Monday night the president of Rescue 33, Ron Hedden, told council members the reinstatement of its suspended license was imminent.
Dr. Cheryl Colbenson of the Peoria Area Emergency Medical System said that is not true and that there is no timeline for reinstatement. Colbenson met one-on-one with Kenny Martin, an officer of Rescue 33, on Monday. Yet Hedden is the one who updated the council.
Colbenson said a major component in the consideration of reinstating Rescue 33's license is transparency and Hedden's actions cloud that transparency.
Peoria-based Advanced Medical Transport has staffed Rescue 33's coverage area since September when the unit's license was suspended for misconduct.
