NORMAL, Ill. -- The Town of Normal may be receiving a $500,000 grant and they already know how to spend it.
The grant is part of the Illinois Jobs Now! program. City Manager Mark Peterson says State representatives recommended the council apply for the funds.
The council narrowed a total of seven projects down to four, for an estimated cost of $570,000.
The projects include updates to Eagles landing trail, Ironwood park trail access, Ironwood parking lot, and the Maxwell park playground.
The council says it will cover any remaining balances for the updates.
The Illinois Jobs Now! program is funded by the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
