Normal woman charged with attempted murder

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Bond is set at $750,000 for a woman accused of stabbing another woman at a Normal apartment complex on Monday night.

Jacquetta Jackson, 22, of Normal appeared in McLean County court on Wednesday where she was charged with Attempted Murder, Home Invasion and Aggravated Domestic Battery.

Police said Jackson entered an apartment in the 100 block of College Park Court around 9 p.m. Monday night and stabbed a 21-year-old woman in a domestic incident turned violent.

The victim was taken to Advocate BroMenn Medical Center where she underwent surgery. Her injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Jackson was arrested a short time later at an apartment in the 700 block of West Orlando Avenue in Normal.

She is scheduled for arraignment on December 27.
