OSF shoe drive collects more than 3,500 shoes for the homeless (with photos)

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – A local shoe drive has collected more than 3,500 pairs of shoes for an area homeless shelter.
OSF St. Joseph Medical Center and Podiatrist Todd Snoeyink, DPM, collected the shoes between August 10 and August 18. All of the shoes were delivered to Home Sweet Home Ministries on Tuesday.
Clients at Home Sweet Home will receive first choice of three pairs of shoes each. The remaining shoes will be donated to other local social service agencies or sold at the Mission Mart thrift store.
Home Sweet Home Ministries is a full service homeless shelter open 24-hours a day, 365 days a year and serves those in need with daily meals, shelter and other social services.
