PEORIA, Il. -- Caterpillar President and CEO Doug Oberhelman is calling for spending more money on infrastructure improvements...in this case..both at airports and highways.

Oberhelman was at the Midwest Truck and Trailer Show to welcome visitors to the two day event.

He told his audience that America is falling behind other countries in terms of infrastructure spending.

"Important and vital to our country. Of course we are involved deeply, in infrastructure and transportation, and there are a couple of hidden messages in that for all of us. And that is that we've got to work at our infrastructure. How do we make sure our roads and bridges and everything we do are up to the latest specs? And that will make us a country very competitive around the world," Oberhelman .

On display at the show this year, was a bright red Caterpillar CT660. The heavy-duty on-highway truck can be configured for any number of jobsite applications.
