MCLEAN CO., Ill -- Officials in the twin cities are working on a plan that could bring a bypass to the east side of town.

McLean County officials revealed the plan to a packed crowd Monday night.

The road connects to Ziebarth Road in Normal on the north end. It would travel east and cross over Interstate-55. The route would follow McLean County Road 2000 and then it would go south and join up with Interstate-74 near Downs.

This option was chosen after input from several groups and public comment.

It will take years, however, before the project gets off the ground.
